Ethiopian Defence Forces conduct airstrike outside of Mekelle city

Addis Ababa, November 17, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopian Defence Forces conducted airstrike on targeted areas outside of the city of Mekelle, Tigary regional state.

According to a statement issued by the Ethiopian State of Emergency Fact Checking, the airstrike was held on TPLF military facilities based on precise information.

The statement also refuted the two short video footage released by two international media about the air strike, saying “they (videos) are uncorroborated and based on information from TPLF.”

It further said report of civilian casualties is groundless. The air strike wasn’t aimed at civilians but rather at TPLF military facilities, the statement indicated.

“The Ethiopian defence army is conducting the law enforcement operation by giving utmost priority to the protection of civilians,” it added.
