Dire Dawa Police arrest 18 suspects over planned perpetration

Addis Ababa, November 14, 2020 (FBC) – Some 18 people have been arrested in Dire Dawa for allegedly plotting a perpetration, police said.

Commissioner of Dire Dawa City Police, Alemu Mugra told journalists said holding a close investigation in the area in collaboration with regions to protect the transport corridor connecting Dire Dawa with neighboring countries from terrorists.

Police has been undertaking investigations on suspects who have been arrested with help of information from the community in connection with alleged perpetration, the commissioner said.

He said that police has found 9 pistols, bullets, passports and other documents possessed by the suspects.

A serious follow up Investigation and patrol is underway in the area in partnership with Immigration department, airports, custom authorities and other federal and municipal service delivery institutions to protect Dire Dawa City from potential terrorist acts that might be perpetrated by the TPLF clique, the commissioner added.
