Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan virtually discuss work plan of coming negotiations on GERD

Addis Ababa, November 2, 2020 (FBC) – The Ministers of Water Affairs of the Ethiopia, Egypt and the Sudan and their delegations virtually held discussions on Sunday.

The meeting was attended by the observers and AU Bureau of the Assembly assigned experts.

The meeting extensively discussed on the plan of work for the negotiations for the coming days as per the guidance of the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa and the understanding reached by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Ministers of Water Affairs of the three countries in their meeting of 27 October 2020.

The three countries agreed to assign six experts, two from each of the three countries to further discuss and report to the Ministers on the details the modality of the next negotiations and on the role of the AU experts in moving the process forward.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The assigned experts will make its meeting on the 2nd November 2020 and submit its report still negotiation meeting of the tripartite Ministerial meeting scheduled for 3rd November 2020.
