EU delegate arrives in Somali Region

Addis Ababa, October 9, 2020 (FBC) – The delegate led by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security and vice president of European Commission, Josep Borrell arrived in Somali Region.

Borrell was accompanied by Janez Lenarcic, European Commissioner for Crisis Management in charge of European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid.

Up on arrival, the delegate has been received by Vice President of Somali Region, Mustafa Mohammed and other high ranking officials of the region.

Somali Region Mustafa has briefed the delegate on activities underway in the region and the country at large.

Mustafa also highlighted activities undertaken in the region in areas of human rights protection, peace and security, health, education and job creation endeavors.

The head of the delegation, Josep Borell expressed delight over the breiaf they received the Somali Region president, Mustafa Mohammed on various issues.

Commending the reforms underway in the region, Josep Borrell has pledged continued support to the region from the European Union and the Commission.
