Ethiopia inaugurates three power stations built at a cost of $53.7

Addis Ababa, October 1, 2020 (FBC) – Ethiopia has today inaugurated power distribution stations built at three towns at a total outlay of 53.7 Million USD in a presence of high government officials.

Chief Administrator of Oromia Regional State, Shemelis Abdissa and Ministry of Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy, Dr. Seleshi Bekele have officially launched the power stations.

The power distribution stations inaugurated in Dukem, Bishoftu and Mojo are said crucial to address power outage problems and rising energy demands from mushrooming industries in the area.

Two stations in Dukem and Modjo towns have 230 Kilovolt input and 10×15 Kilovolt output dual transmission lines, and are equipped with two 50 Megavolt Ampere transformers, is was learned.

The Modjo and Dukem power stations with 230/15 Kilovolt capacity each have successfully undergone test run, and are ready for full operation.

Installation of a 16 Km power transmission line stretches from the Bishoftu to Dukem Stations has been completed so far, it is said on the inaugural occasion.

In addition to local companies, International contractors from India and Bosnia Herzegovina have participated in building the stations where as German and Switzerland companies engaged in consultancy works.
