Ethiopia’s confirmed COVID19 cases top 70,000

Addis Ababa, September 23, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopia’s COVID19 cases surged past 70,000 after the country reported 713 new cases yesterday.

The new cases were reported out of the 6,813 samples taken in 24 hours. The number of confirmed cases now stands at 70, 422.

The death toll from the virus also jumped to 1,127 after 19 people died in the reported period.

Some 357 patients have also recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 28,991.

The country has so far conducted 1,217,746 laboratory tests.
