Addis Ababa city unveils 3 year road safety strategic implementation plan

Addis Ababa, September 14, 2020 (FBC) –The Addis Ababa city administration today unveiled a three-year road safety strategic implementation plan.

It aims basically addressing complex problems in the transport system in the city, especially in mass transport service and other problems associated with infrastructure.

The new plan will help to encourage stakeholders, partners and the community to discharge their responsibilities in preventing road traffic accidents.

Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa city, Adanech Abiebie, said efforts of all stakeholders are essential to deal with the negative economic and social impacts of road traffic accidents.

She further indicated that the active role and attention of all stakeholders is necessary for a safe and smoother traffic flow in the capital city.

The Deputy Mayor also stressed the need to give due attention for a series of awareness raising campaigns to ensure that traffic rules are properly applied.
