6th Nile Basin Development Forum wraps up with calls to stir up regional investment

Addis Ababa, May 7, 2021 (FBC) – The 6th Nile Basin Development Forum has been concluded with calls to stir up investment in the basin.

The virtual forum explored ways to promote investment and trade and enhance economic cooperation among Nile Basin Countries.

In his remarks regarding the forum, the Minister of Water Irrigation and Energy Ministry of Ethiopia, Dr. Seleshi said that the meeting prioritized utilization of transboundary rivers for mutual purpose.

According to Dr Seleshi, the meeting was fruitful in terms of facilitating an agreement among the basin countries on use of natural resources for mutual benefit.

The forum held during the last two days under the theme “Rethinking regional investments in the Nile Basin.”
