43rd Anniversary of Karamara Victory commemorated at Ethio-Cuba Friendship Park
Addis Ababa, March 5, 2021 (FBC) – The 43rd Anniversary of the Karamara Victory has been commemorated here in Addis Ababa at the Ethio-Cuba Friendship Memorial Park.
March 5, 1978 marked the victory of Ethiopian army over the invading Somalian army under leadrshiop of President Siad Barre.
Thousands of residents of Addis Ababa along with survivors of the battle of Karamara, patriots have observed the celebration held to commemorate the victory of Ethiopia over Somalian invaders.
Cuban Ambassador to Ethiopia, Vilma Thomas and other diplomatic members of the embassy of Cuba in Addis Ababa have also attended the ceremony.
Participants of the anniversary called up on the generation to preserve the values of the Victory of Adwa and translate them to other fields of development to the wellbeing of the nation.
More than three hundred thousand militia forces were raised in a short time which was very crucial for Ethiopian victory. And, tens of thousands of Cuban troops fought alongside Ethiopian soldiers and many have lost their lives.
