Ethiopia, China sign MoU on customs cooperation
Addis Ababa, November 14, 2019 (FBC) –The Ministry of Revenues of Ethiopia and the General Administration of Customs of China have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate in customs affairs.
Adanech Abebe, Minister of Revenues, and Ni Yufeng, Minister of Chinese Customs Administration, signed the MoU in Addis Ababa today.
Adanech on the occasion said the agreement would help to improve the quality and quantity of information and promote technology transfer in customs management.
Ethiopia is a key trade partner of China, said Ni Yufeng adding, there is also great potential for further cooperation between the two countries.
He further said Ethiopia’s Customs Commission and Customs of China would play a significant role to facilitate and promote legal trade between the two countries.
According to him, the MoU would also help to further elevate the ties between the two nations.
During the agreement signing ceremony, high officials from the Ministry of Revenues and Customs Commission provided a briefing to the Chinese delegation on customs service delivery in Ethiopia.
