Council of Ministers approves various draft bills
Addis Ababa, November 9, 2019 (FBC) – The Council of Ministers, in its 75th regular session held today, discussed and approved various draft bills.
Among the bills reviewed and approved by the Council included the agreement signed with Djibouti to build a natural gas pipeline and the hate speech law.
After discussing on the draft bill prepared to endorse the agreement signed with Djibouti to build a pipeline to transport Ethiopian gas to an export terminal in Red Sea state, the Council approved the bill.
The bill was referred to the House of Peoples’ Representatives (HPR) for approval.
Similarly, the Council discussed the bill drafted by the Attorney General to prevent fake news and hate speech. The Council approved the bill and sent it to the House for endorsement.
In its today’s session, the Council approved a total of five draft bills.
