No measure taken against activist Jawar Mohamed:Police Commission
Addis Ababa, October 23, 2019 (FBC) –No measure has been taken either by the Government or by police forces against activist Jawar Mohamed, said the Federal Police Commission.
Commissioner General of the Federal Police Commission, Endeshaw Tassew, made the statement in response to Jawar Mohamed’s message to its supporters calming that the government is to arrest and attack him.
Endeshaw said there was no measure taken against him either by the government or police. His message is wrong.
According to the Commissioner General, activist Jawar Mohamed is currently performing his day-to-day activities.
The government had been providing security guard services to political parties and activists who returned home after the reform to protect them from any type of problems in areas where they live and operate.
However, thanking into account that the current stability existed in the country will allow them to move from place to place freely as any other community members, the government has been removing private security guards, and this will also continue, he said.
Endeshaw called on the youth, the community, security forces to do their part in ensuring the safe movement of the public by opening closed roads.
