Ethiopian, Egyptian leaders hold talks over phone
Addis Ababa, October 12, 2019 (FBC) –Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed and Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi held talks over the phone yesterday.
The discussion between the two leaders focused on talks being held regarding the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
Ethiopia rejected the new proposal presented by Egypt on the filling of the dam. Ethiopia said the proposal has crossed the red line drawn by it.
Prime Minister Dr Abiy thanked the Egyptian President for extending a congratulatory message to him on winning the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize.
He was awarded the Peace Prize by the Norwegian Nobel Committee on Friday for achieving peace and international cooperation.
