1.8b birr Warder-Kebri Dehar road project commences
Addis Ababa, October 12, 2019 (FBC) –The construction of the 138.8km Warder-Kebri Dehar asphalt road project has been launched in the Somali regional state at a cost of 1.8 billion birr.
Deputy Chief Administrator of the regional state, Mustefe Mohammed, Director General of the Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA), Engineer Habtamu Tegegn and other federal and regional state officials attended the launching ceremony.
The project will be undertaken by a local firm called Macro General Contractor and Trading Plc and is scheduled to be completed within four year, according to ERA.
The construction of the road will reduce the travel time from Warder to Kebri Dehar by half from three hours now.
It will also help residents to have access to modern transport facilities as well as enables pastoralists and semi-pastoralists of the area to easily supply their products to other parts of the country.
