UK Trade Commissioner for Africa arrives in Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, September 16, 2019 (FBC) – The UK Trade Commissioner for Africa, Emma Wade-Smith, arrived in Addis Ababa today for an official visit to Ethiopia.
Early this morning, the Commissioner visited Ethiopian Airlines (Ethiopian) state of the art facilities and held discussion with executive management of the Airlines.
The Commissioner said the UK is keen to work with Ethiopia in the aviation industry, including in the expansion project and management of the Airlines.
She further indicated that the UK Government wants to participate in agro-processing and renewable energy developments in Ethiopia.
The Commissioner further said investors from the UK are desirous to invest in Ethiopia.
The two countries have a longstanding relations and the UK is one of Ethiopia’s largest development partners, she said.
The Commissioner will hold discussions with State Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy on energy development opportunities in Ethiopia and the UK companies role to help develop the sector this afternoon.
