President wishes all Ethiopians better life in New Year
Addis Ababa, September 11, 2019 (FBC) –President Sahle-Work Zewde has wished all Ethiopians peace, health, prosperity, and unity in the New Year, which starts tomorrow, September 12 of the Gregorian calendar
In her message today, the President said “we should prepare ourselves for a better life in the New Year.”
Despite all the challenges, the concluded year has brought many good things, laying firm foundation in the political and socio-economic spheres, which enabled the public to take active part in issues regarding their country.
“The door for the empowerment of women has been opened and all should strive to keep it open until the end to allow more women to go through it,” she said.
Recalling the conflicts and displacements last year, the President urged all Ethiopians to fulfill their responsibilities to avoid the recurrence of such incidents in the New Year.
The President also underscored the importance of lifting the people out of poverty, meeting their basic demands and respecting their fundamental rights to strengthen national unity.
The President finally called upon the people to strengthen their unity so to build a peaceful and united Ethiopia on a firm foundation.
