Ethiopia bids to host 2023 APIMONDIA Congress
Addis Ababa, September 10, 2019 (FBC) –The Ethiopian delegation led by the Minister of Trade, Fetlework Gebregziabher is attending the 46th APIMONDIA Congress 2019 in Montreal, Canada.
The Congress is taking place from September 8 to 12, 2019 and expected to gather more than 6000 participants from 80 countries. It is a biannual gathering.
On the Congress, Ethiopia, as the owner of 2,000,000 smallholder beekeepers and 10,000,000 honeybee colonies, many international hotels, African’s leading airlines and good experiences in hosting different international forum is presenting its potentials to the participants.
In addition, as the Origin of Mankind and Coffee Arabica, it is exhibiting its potentials at the Congress and bidding to host the 2023 Congress. And now, it is one of the two final bidders to host the 47th Congress.
APIMONDIA is the International Federation of Beekeepers’ Associations.
Its major objective is to facilitate the exchange of information and discussions on apiculture by organizing Congresses and Symposia where beekeepers, scientists, honey-traders, agents for development, technicians and legislators meet to listen, discuss and learn from one another.
