Ethio-India business forum held in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, August 13, 2019 (FBC) –A business forum meant to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and enhance business to business (B2B) ties between Ethiopia and India was held in Addis Ababa yesterday.
The forum brought 40 Ethiopian and Indian companies together, said Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in a statement sent to FBC today.
In his opening remark, Ambassador Dawano Kedir, Economic Diplomacy Permanent Representative at MFA, hailed the forum as essential to further cement the long-standing and historical ties between the two countries.
Ambassador Dawano also briefed the participants on the economic reform being undertaken to attract more FDI and encourage investors.
General Secretary of Indo African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Sunanda Rajendran, praised Ethiopia’s efforts to create favorable investment.
She indicated that Indian investors are keen to invest in Ethiopia in the areas of innovation technology, textile, food and dairy processing and information technology.
During their stay in Ethiopia, participants of the forum will visit selected investment sites.
