Premier receives Finnish Foreign Minister
Addis Ababa, July 10, 2019 (FBC) – Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed met with the Foreign Minister of Finland, Pekka Haavisto this morning.
They discussed bilateral issues and the role of Ethiopia in bringing regional peace and stability, particularly in Sudan, according to office of the Prime Minister.
Following a mediation efforts by the government of Ethiopia and the African Union, the Sudanese ruling Transitional Military Council (TMC) and the Forces for Freedom and Change agreed last week to establish a sovereign council.
They also reached agreement to release detainees, restore internet access, and conduct independent investigation into the measures taken to disperse the sit-in outside the army headquarters in Khartoum.
