Amhara regional state issues licenses for over 39 billion birr project
Addis Ababa, July 17, 2019 (FBC) –The Amhara regional state has issued licenses for investors with a combined capital of more than 39 billion birr over the past 12 months.
Yihnew Alem, head of the regional state’s industry and investment bureau, told FBC that the licenses were issued for 1, 671 investors.
The regional state issued investment license for more investors compared to its target. The plan was to license 824 investors.
The investment projects would create employment opportunities for more than 204,000 people, he said.
Investment flow to the region is increasing, he said, citing the 8.2 billion birr Dejen cement plant and the Bure edible oil factory that is expected to cover over 60% of the country’s demand, as a case in point.
