University graduates to participate in 6bn birr irrigation project
Addis Ababa, May 31, 2019 (FBC) –The Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy (MoWIE) is set to implement an irrigation project with close to 6 billion birr.
It will be carried out with the involvement of graduates from higher education institutions.
The first phase of the project, to be implemented on 50,000 hectares of land, will create 12,000 employment opportunities, said Dr. Eng. Seleshi Bekele, Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy.
The project will be executed using the 12 irrigation dams built in seven regional states, he said.
