New Zealand keen to advance business, investment cooperation with Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, April 16, 2019 (FBC) -Permanent Secretary to Europe, America, Asia, and Multilateral Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambasador Mahlet Hailu received a New Zealand Parliamentary delegation today.
She briefed the delegation led by Trevor Mallard, the Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives of New Zealand on the various reform activities made in Ethiopia over the past one year.
She also related Ethiopia’s interest to work with and draw lessons from New Zealand in trade, investment, business and job creation, in particular, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Reiterating Ethiopia’s two-year stint at the UNSC as a success, Ambassador Mahlet thanked the Government of New Zealand for the support and partnership provided with the view to promoting collective peace and security.
Trevor Mallard commended Ethiopia’s reform agenda, while also noting that his country remains committed to advance cooperation with Ethiopia in business, investment and trade.
The House Speaker underpinned the interest of New Zealand investors to seize the lucrative investment climate in Ethiopia and reiterated his support to that end.
Mallard further underlined the need to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between Ethiopia and New Zealand.
