Ethiopia’s finance minister meets US-based companies in Washington DC
Addis Ababa, April 11, 2019 (FBC) –Ethiopian delegation led by Minister of Finance Ahmed Shide met with US-based companies on the sideline of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group (WB) 2019 spring meetings in Washington DC.
According to Fitsum Arega, Ambassador of Ethiopia to the United States, Ahmed met with companies “that are interested in green energy investment which Ethiopia is well known and in other sectors like healthcare and aviation.”
The Ethiopian delegation traveled to Washington to attend the annual spring meetings which discuss progress on the work of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.
Also featured are seminars, regional briefings, and press conferences, focused on the global economy, international development, and the world’s financial markets.
The spring meetings are attended by approximately 2,800 delegates from member countries, 350 observer organization representatives. Approximately 550 accredited civil society members also participate in the meetings.
The meetings are comprised of events open to all attendees, ministerial-level invitation-only sessions, closed bilateral meetings, and events open only to the Press.
