Corteva Agriscience launched in Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, April 24, 2019 (FBC) – Corteva Agriscience, agriculture division of DowDuPont, launched as a new agricultural brand to public and private sector representatives, growers, customers and partners in Ethiopia.
The new American agriculture brand was officially launched with the signing of a partnership with Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) in Addis Ababa today.
Corteva Agriscience will help transform the lives of smallholders by improving their access to yield-enhancing technologies, including hybrid seeds, good agricultural practices and adopting digital tech.
Speaking on the occasion, U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia, Michael Raynor said “Corteva’s launch in Ethiopia offers tremendous opportunities to build upon the U.S. Government’s ongoing investments in Ethiopia’s agricultural capacity”.
The United States recently announced a partnership with the Ethiopian Government for a new, five-year Feed the Future strategy that will invest in food security, build resilience, and accelerate economic growth.
Corteva’s commitment to Ethiopia’s agriculture development is also a commitment to Ethiopia’s job creation, broader economic agenda, and lasting prosperity, he stated.
