Sudanese Vice President arrives in Addis Ababa to express condolences over Ethiopian flight crash
Addis Ababa, March 14, 2019 (FBC) – Sudanese Vice President Osman Mohammed Yousuf Kibir arrived in Ethiopia today.
Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, the Vice President was received by Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen.
He came to Addis Ababa to express his condolences on behalf of the people and government of Sudan to the people and government of Ethiopia as well as to families of those lost in an Ethiopian airline’s flight crash.
A total of 157 people died when an Ethiopian Airlines passenger jet on Sunday crashed en route to Nairobi from Addis Ababa.
Following the accident, Boeing grounded its entire global fleet of 737 Max aircraft after investigators uncovered new evidence at the scene of the fatal crash.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said fresh evidence as well as newly refined satellite data prompted the decision to temporarily ban the jets.
