Ethiopia launches $6.5 bln second phase One WASH nat’l program
Addis Ababa, March 22, 2019 (FBC) –Ethiopia has officially launched the second phase of One Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) national program today March 22, 2019.
The implementation of the five-year program will bring together Water, Education, Health and Finance ministries as well as development partners and the community.
The country launched the first phase of the program in 2013 to provide universal access to water and sanitation.
The 6.5 billion US dollars required for the implementation of the program will be secured from the government, development partners, the community, and lenders.
The country also celebrated World Water Day under the theme “Leave No One Behind!”
