Construction of Abay cement plant commences with 8.8 bln birr
Addis Ababa, March 20, 2019 (FBC) –The construction of Abay cement plant has been officially launched today in Dejen woreda, Amhara regional state, at a cost of 8.8 billion birr.
Senior regional state’s officials, including Chief of Amhara regional state, Dr Ambachew Mekonnen, attended the launching ceremony.
The construction of the cement plant will take two years for completion and 28 months for commissioning.
The cement plant has the capacity to produce 2.25 million tons of cement per year and is expected to create 1,500 jobs..
