Premier holds discussion with financial institutions’ heads, representatives
Addis Ababa, January 14, 2019 (FBC) – Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed yesterday held discussions with heads and representatives of financial institutions to discuss the current reforms within the sector.
The sectoral reforms have focused on further capacitating financial institutions to be more competitive and competent towards strengthening their role in building the economy.
The discussions specifically explored key milestones in financial sector reforms thus far and identification of policy, procedural and governance bottlenecks within the sector.
Moreover, it explored identification of roles and responsibilities of the financial sector in strengthening the country’s economy and the important role played by the sector in financing public projects.
The discussions concluded with financial institutions committing to broaden their support to national public sector projects, according to Office of the Prime Minister.
