Political parties list 32 agendas for dialogue
Addis Ababa, January 10, 2019 (FBC) –Political parties that took part at consultative meeting organized to gather inputs for the amendment of the electoral law have listed 32 agendas that need to be discussed in the future.
The meeting was organized jointly by the Office of the Federal Attorney General, National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), and the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy.
The parties on the occasion submitted to NEBE a total of 32 agendas that need to be discussed at dialogues to be held in the future among themselves and other organizations.
The agendas mainly focused on issues of political parties, electoral board, upcoming election, democratic institutions, constitution, federalism, and foreign affairs, among others.
In the two-day meeting kicked of yesterday, the political parties discussed on the electoral system, and the modalities of settlements of disputes in the election process.
Senator Ben Knapen from the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy urged political parties to cooperate to ensure that they secure seats in the parliament and fulfill the needs of their constituencies.
