President Sahlework briefs AIF attendees on what Ethiopia is doing to attract investment
Addis Ababa, November 8, 2018 (FBC) –Ethiopia’s President Sahlework Zewde today attended the ‘championing investments: presidential chats’ panel discussion’ at the inaugural session of the Africa Investment Forum (AIF) in South Africa.
During the discussion with a focus on concrete and transformative actions by Heads of State for a new business Africa, the President pointed out the broad activities being done in Ethiopia to attract investment.
“In terms of infrastructure, we have an electric, railway, and the Ethiopian Airlines. All of this helps in attracting investors,” she said.
According to President Sahleowk, Ethiopia believes that the private sector has a role in accelerating economic growth and assisting government’s target of making the country a manufacturing in Africa hub by 2025.”
“We have a target to move the country to another level. The main focus for economic growth is making Ethiopia the manufacturing hub of Africa. We plan to be there by 2025,” she said.
President Sahlework traveled to Johannesburg yesterday to attend the Forum.
During her stay in South Africa, she is expected to have a bilateral meeting with senior South African government officials on the sidelines of the Forum.
