Addis Ababa city Cabinet blocked transfer of over 133 hct land
Addis Ababa, October 27, 2018 (FBC) –The Addis Ababa City Administration Cabinet today blocked the transfer of 133.6 hectares of land for manufacturing.
The city administration had transferred 495.3 hectares of land on lease for developers between 2011 and 2017.
However, the leasing process was not transparent and conducted in violation of a directive issued for the manufacturing industry, the Cabinet said.
Accordingly, the Cabinet suspended the transfer of the land which was identified in the second phase land audit management until the directive is reviewed, according to office of the mayor.
A total of 288 investors have submitted requests to the administration for the acquisition of 133.65 hectares of land for investment.
