Ethiopia is an important partner of China in Africa: President Xi
They discussed further cooperation in human capital and foreign direct investment (FDI).

Addis Ababa, September 3, 2018 (FBC) – Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed met Chinese President Xi Jinping yesterday ahead of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
During the meeting, the Premier thanked President Xi for China’s continued support in #Ethiopia’s transformation, according to Fitsum Arega, Chief of Staff at the Prime Minister’s Office.
They discussed further cooperation in human capital and foreign direct investment (FDI), such as manufacturing, agribusiness, oil, and gas.
President Xi for his part said Ethiopia is an important partner of China in Africa, and the two countries have established a comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership.
Prime Minister Dr Abiy also held a productive discussion with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqian.
Following the discussion, the two countries signed agreement to cement their ties.Both Premiers witnessed the signing of the agreement.
Similarly, the Ethiopian Premier held talks with President Omar Hassan al-Bashir of Sudan on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) and other bilateral issues of mutual interest.
They further discussed ways to elevate their bilateral cooperation and relations to a new height.
