Ethiopia to implement modern solid waste management projects in 23 cities
Addis Ababa, August 24, 2018 (FBC) – The Ministry of Water, Irrigation, and Electricity of Ethiopia (MoWIE) has said researches and designing were underway to implement modern solid waste management projects in 23 cities.
The designing and researches are being conducted by foreign consultants, according to the Ministry.
The World Bank has provided 445 million US dollars for the projects, out of which 225 US dollars will be used for Addis Ababa waste management project.
The remaining 200 million US dollars will be used for the execution of similar projects in other cities of the country, according to Dr Negash Wegesho, Water and Sanitation State Minister at MoWIE.
The projects will be launched next fiscal year, he said.
