10th Anniversary of Belt and Road Initiative celebrated in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, September 8, 2023 (FBC) – Celebrating the 10th anniversary of China-Africa Belt and Road Initiative, the Mission of China to AU organized a seminar on the theme of promoting Chinese investment in Africa.

The seminar reviewed the BRI investment achievements so far and discussed innovative ways forward to deepen pragmatic cooperation and interaction in China-Africa business cooperation.

The event has been accompanied by an exhibition showcasing successful Chinese investment projects in Africa.

Temesgen Tilahun, Deputy Commissioner of Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC), in his keynote speech, reiterated the success stories of China-Ethiopia business and investment relations.

“The business and investment ties between Ethiopia and China are based on strategic comprehensive political and economic partnership for mutual benefit,” he said.

Ambassador Hu Changchun, head of mission of China to AU, Albert M. Muchanga, AUC Commissioner for Economic Development, guests from AU agencies, UNECA, and Chinese enterprises participated in the seminar.
